Canine Blood Donor Criteria

Health of our donor is our top priority. These donor qualifications help us keep our blood donors healthy during their service for the community.

• 1 - 5 years old
• Weighs at least 55 pounds or 25 kilograms
• Current on vaccinations and flea and heartworm control
• Gentle and friendly disposition
• Has never had a blood transfusion
• Ability to make a two-year commitment
• Ability to donate 4 times per year at minimum is a must (but no more than 7) as considerable resouce goes into initial health screening.
